Tornado Warning

Hey Mommy,
Yeah so crazy story about the Tornado... So we did not get the tornado
warnings until late Sunday night. We went to a members house, they are
awesome. They are the Box family. We were sharing a message with them when
all of a sudden you could hear the warning siren that is super loud around
the city. When it goes off it means take shelter now. The Zone leaders and
Aps are calling us and telling us to get in to our apartment but we were at
a members house. So they said we could stay there. They turned on the news
and it said that the tornado was right off of Hwy 10. We quickly realized
that we were right off Hwy 10. We ran outside and looked up and the Tornado
cloud was right above us. We ran inside and all of us got into the closet
an hid under there! It was nuts! Then it headed past us to the next city,
there it touched down. We got word this morning that 17 people died in the
tornado that went right over our head! It was insane. Great story for the
future though, cause its all about the memories.
Alex's baptism was great! He is awesome, his mom on the other hand... she
is a crazy lady. She started talking and complaining about HER life story
at HIS baptism... there was also another girl getting baptized at the same
day, her name was Ebony. I got to interview Ebony for Baptism which was
great! She did super well and loved her baptism. We are super excited for
him and getting the priesthood in a couple weeks. He loves going to Young
mens and is having a great time. It feels good to have good success.
Driving the van is awesome! I love being high off the ground and driving
this huge van. I am getting pro at parking it. Like a boss. Yeah im sure
dad is saying oh he cant drive big things, remember that one time he nailed
a semi trailor.. haha good times.
So i cant even tell you how excited i got when i saw the pictures and i saw
that dad bought the truck! I went crazy in the family history center! i am
so excited, i cant believe it! i am so excited that we have that now...
man. And dad got a new work truck? All of these blessings are just flowing
out right now! Man...crazy. Well i hope that he is excited. It was a great
week that was full of excitement and fun stuff happening! Our dang
apartment does not tell us that we get packages so i didnt know that i had
one until you said that. So i will get it today. We are doing good from the
tornado, it touched down not to far from us so that is a great story! NADO

Urinal Talk

Hey Mommy,
So you sold the Tahoe! NO way! i thought we would have that thing till it
was a hundred years old. Yeah we sure did lose a family member, that thing
was a part of us. My week was good! We had a rough start to it but we ended
it with a bang! We found some new investigators and had some good lessons
this week! Our Easter was pretty dang good! We got 3 people to come to
church and it was pretty bomb. A member bought us glow stick glasses and we
had some fun times! My package was great! i loved the socks and ties, and
of course the candy. The pants are a little tight but i make them work, i
guess i am gaining weight! haha, the South will get ya! My companion is
good. We get a long pretty good and
have some good times even though we are a little different. His companion
had some repentance to do so he had to go home. So we are stuck together. I
am still district leader! it is crazy. This week we are getting the
transfer van as our mission car.! Legit. I had to take the 15 passenger van
test and i got 100% on the test! Only one in the mission that got 100%. I
told them that i had been driving bigger things my whole life! So yeah i am
excited to drive that this week! This Saturday we have a Baptism!!! Yeah!
His name is Alex he is 13. He is pretty legit. We are dang
excited. Yesterday at church i had a great experience with President
Peterson... (watch out this is very personal and graffic) so i had to go to
the bathroom at church, so i went in and was doing my thing when all of a
sudden President comes to the urinal next to me and i thought it was going
to be super awkward... but it wasn't haha! He asked how i was doing i said
good and then we talked about how Elder Johnson is home and that he talked
to his family and stuff. I thought it was great because i got to have a
urinal talk with President Peterson! it was great! haha. This week was
really good and i am glad that we are able to work really hard and see
great things happen. The sisters in my district are also baptizing this
Saturday which is great! 2 baptisms in April!! Thanks for the package and
thanks for everything! p.s. the camera is awesome i love it! I can never
find free wi-fi anywhere though is the problem! haha. I will try my
hardest. Love you, ill catch ya on the flip side. And dont forget to smile!

Ghetto basketball

Hey Mommy, 

Things are going great here. Yeah we are finally working and getting some things done. We had a pretty good week! Found some new investigators and set some dates. Sadly no one was able to come to church. They say it right to your face that they will come and that you can call them and pick them up in the morning but they lie to you haha. Elder Johnson is doing good i guess, he sent me an email today saying that he found a job and is just waiting for school and track to start up, so we will see what happens with him. He was pretty dang excited to go home. Which is sad, but all is well in Zion! 

The ward is getting a little better, they are feeding us and seem to be doing pretty good! Last night we had a massive thunderstorm, there was severe flood warnings and things were going crazy. The streets were flooded pretty bad, the car was having water come over the hood. Oh and yeah we got a new car, we are driving a 2014 toyota corolla, it is way nice! 

So this week we were walking past these ghetto basketball courts, they are under an overpass, and we saw some black dudes playing basketball. So we decided that we would ask them if we could play with them! They looked at us and said you are going to play us in that? We were in full pros shirt and tie. WE said Heck yeah and we started to play them. We lost the first by 1 point and won the next game by 5 points. Then the next day we saw some different guys playing so we played them. We beat them 2 games in a row! It is awesome, we are going to get well know at those basketball courts! I will have to send a picture next time of the basketball courts. 

I hope all is going well at the Nielson home. Things are going pretty great here. Have you asked Grandpa about the Book of Mormon? How are they doing? How is the truck? Anyway i hope that we have a great week this week and can get some great things done.

9-1-1

Dear Mom, 

Yeah so, sorry about last week we just had a lot of things going on. Well these last 2 weeks have been crazy and super long. Elder Johnson was Diagnosed with Depression this week and it has been taking a toll on him. So it has been a long unproductive week. Then in Conference the 2nd session on Saturday he was not feeling well and he got up to get a drink. He said he ran out of breath immediately and sat on the couch in the foyer. I went up to him cause he was pale and i asked him if he was alright. He couldn't even say 2 words to me. I was thinking o crap, then he said, "I'm cold and i cant feel anything." so i was like where is the phone, and he pointed to his pocket so i got it out of there and started to call his doctor. I was thinking it was an allergic reaction to the medicine that he was taking. While i was talking to the Doctor it got worse, he is shaking and spazing out. Luckily we live in the ward that pretty much everyone is a doctor. So i went and grabbed the bishop that is a heart surgeon and he came and Took control of the situation. 9-1-1 was called and 2 cops, an ambulance and a fire truck pulled up to the church, which i thought was very impressive! They found out that he had an anxiety attack that was super bad. So we went to Presidents house and i sat there and watched Priesthood session while President and Elder Johnson Talked. 

So just today we found out that Elder Johnson is going home. He leaves tomorrow morning at 9. He is going home with a medical release. So yeah, it has been pretty rough for me having to deal with all of that but i am glad that we got it all figured out and that he can go home and get on some meds and get back to normal. Another missionary happens to be going home this week as well so his companion and i are going to be companions temporarily. Yeah crazy story. 

I loved the packages that i got! Kaesi sent me a package, her family sent me a card and then the Hills sent me a package as well!   

My Birthday was really good, i had a good time. A member drove us home from dinner in his convertible! That was sweet! And yeah, it is just weird that i am now 19. Im soo old.

So the whole sending Grandpa a Book of Mormon. I was listening to the recording that you sent and you were talking about Grandpa and i had a big impression that i needed to send him one. So i dont know why, but i did it and i sure hope that he reads it and likes it. 

So yeah we will see what happens this next week. I have been out 9 months though on a lighter note! Someone could have gotten pregnant 9 months ago and had the baby by the time that i have been out! Crazy eh!!! haha
